The Infertility Guidebook

You guys, the infertility process is hard.

It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through in my life. Not just because of the emotional rollercoaster that consumes your entire life, but because infertility is a huge world of unknowns.

The complete guide to the infertility process: from Clomid, all the way to IUI, IVF, and FET.

The unknowns about what’s next. The unknowns about what’s happening. The unknowns about your whole entire future.

I’m a planner. I generally like to know Plans A, B, C, and D. And steps 1 – 5 under each of those plans. And the contingencies for each of those steps to happen.

I need all of this information from the get-go, in order to even process what to do next. My brain is basically the Game of Thrones title sequence, spinning and morphing all over the place.

Game of Thrones Intro

But with infertility treatments, there are a million different paths, and very little information available on any of them.

This was the hardest part for me. I Googled all the live-long day trying to find answers and to make a plan for myself, but was mostly just left frustrated and confused.

Your Guide to the Infertility Process

Enter: The Infertility Guidebook.

I’ve talked about my infertility journey pretty extensively here. I’ve covered everything from how following my instincts led to our second miracle baby, to tips for what NOT to say to your infertile friends, to the aftermath of infertility and dealing with leftover embryos.

It’s been cathartic to share our personal journey openly, but I’m even more excited to share helpful, real information about the infertility process that could help others who are going through it and perhaps feeling a little lost.

Each section of this Infertility Guidebook covers a step in infertility, each one detailing the treatment options, testing, treatments, meds, and rough cost estimates.

Of course, keep in mind that everyone’s journey is very, very different, and this is largely based on mine. I’ve tried to weave in information from things other friends of mine have gone through to make it more well-rounded, but obviously your own doctor is the only one who’s able to give you information on your own body.

Venture through the guidebook below, and let me know what else you want info on.

And most importantly, if you have an infertility success story, I’d love to hear it in the comments! If this page ends up filled with stories of hope for those in the trenches, that would be my best case scenario.

  8. …and Beyond

*This should go without saying, but this is the internet and therefore it doesn’t: I’m not a doctor, and you need to consult your doctor about any kind of medical treatment and options specific to you.

Infertility will tear you down, if you let it. But find your support, find your motivation to keep going, because you got this. Move that mountain!

This post is very eye opening, my husband and I are starting to try and get pregnant and infertility is something that looms over me, because it was an issue with my mom and my aunt when they both tried to conceive. This post will be saved for futur reference. Thank you!

I know very little about this subject. This is really interesting to read, and so valuable, to help the rest of us have a better understanding of what our friends may be experiencing!
